Spells are the engines of magick. They are the means by which magick works. You use a spell to perform magick in potions, in incense making, in chanting, in psychometry, in sigilisation, in chakra working and in all the vast array of methods available. And magick is a way of altering things to the way you want through occult laws. These occult laws might be forever unknowable to science or it may simply be that science hasn’t worked them out yet. Basically casting spells means you are practising magick.

If you go to Google and search for ‘free spells’ you will find a multitude of sites offering these. Take your pick, get a few and try them. Can you intuit before you actually try these whether they will work or not? Consider what the world will be like if this was all you had to do in order to change things to your liking. It will be a very different world than the one you are in now if these spells worked.

But this does not mean that only a knowledgeable few can make spells work. Think about it, if knowledge is what you need, then you simply need to acquire that specific knowledge. And this knowledge is not kept secret or hidden from the populace. There are many teachers available for you to work with. You simply have to find one who knows her subject and who is willing to teach it. It may take a while to find such a person but it’s well worth the effort. And the fact you are reading this right now is a good indication of your intent and determination to make spells work for you.

Spells – How Do They Work?

Asking how spells work is the same as asking how magick works. There are many methods of making spells work and they all depend on the spell-caster. The spell caster is a person with a certain history, experience and mind set and all these attributes combine in sometimes unique ways in the casting of spells.

But people are generally similar; all those caster of spells who come from the same culture will tend to be more alike in their spell casting than those of a different culture, even if the aim of the spells are the same in both cases.

So basically you need to understand that there are numerous ways of making the same spells work and this should be kept in the back of your mind at all times. If you associate one action with another then performing the first action will cause the other. An example is when you move your hand in a certain way, the ‘recipient’ will agree with you when you suggest something. Spells of this type require this association to be formed magically before they will work.

Another generally accepted idea on how spells work is the principle of contagion. This principle accepts that if two objects come into contact then some sort of link between them will be made and this link can be controlled by utilizing the correct methods. Thus it becomes necessary to obtain something from the other person if you want to enchant him or her. A hair or a nail clipping are classic examples. Spells of this type are extremely common.

Spells can be used to activate potions and rituals, which would simply not work without this activation. Also words themselves can be magick and used to bend the universe to your will. In general spells comprise the backbone of practical magick.

Magick spells in general terms are all about intent, or the Will of the caster. If you can make a change to something using your Will, that is magick, doesn't matter what it is. If you think of a image in your head and then take that image from your head and paint it on to canvas, that is a form of magick spell.

No, magick does not have a mind to think about whether the spell is good or evil. The intention of the Magickian casting the spell might be good or bad, but magick it's self can not be classed as good or evil, that is impossible. Good and evil are a human creation.
